The Cool Roof Rating Council was created in 1998 to develop accurate and credible methods for evaluating and labeling the solar reflectance and thermal emittance (radiative properties) of roofing products.The CRRC ia a non-profit, educational organization created to implement and communicate fair, accurate, and credible radiative energy performance rating systems for roof surfaces. FM approvals is a leader in certification and approval of roofing products and roof assemblies. Product approval is based on performance testing of completed assemblies when subjected to multiple perils. A typical Approvals program includes fire testing for above and below the deck, wind uplift testing, hail-damageability testing, accelerated weathering and corrosion resistance of ferrous metal parts.

The Miami-Dade County Product Control Approval System was established to allow new and innovated ideas to be developed into useful, practical, lasting and safe products.Manufacturers submit technical documentation, including but not limited to test reports, engineering analysis and installation procedures. Our staff reviews the information and determines whether the submittal is sufficient to demonstrate compliance with the Building Code.
